Thanks to all our competitors, chaperones, coaches, officials and vendors for being so understanding and patient with the rescheduling necessitated by a power surge in the area that prevented the ice compressors from operating Monday night.

We are especially thankful to Iceland's management who worked through the night to do what seemed at some points an impossible task. We also thank the volunteers who put in extra hours to overcome this challenge. We're looking forward to a fresh start on Wednesday and the continuation of a great championships!

NOTICE REGARDING TUESDAY NORTH RINK SCHEDULE

Skaters who were previously scheduled on North rink practice ice sessions before 12 (noon) on Oct. 2, 2007 will  rescheduled on an individual basis. Please visit the practice ice desk as soon as possible if you would like to make a change.

EVENTS ON NORTH RINK ON TUESDAY WILL BEGIN AT 1 PM . THIS IS A ONE-HOUR DELAY.

URGENT NOTICE TO COMPETITORS:

There was an electrical power surge in the area of Iceland Sports Complex last evening. Louisville Gas & Electric responded immediately and confirmed the power surge and in the process discovered that the surge damaged two fuses. These fuses, which filter power to the compressors, have been replaced.

SOUTH RINK

Practice ice sessions scheduled for the South rink will be delayed. The revised practice schedule is now posted >>

NORTH RINK

Juvenile qualifying events on the North rink will be held as scheduled. Practice ice previously scheduled for the North rink prior to noon will be rescheduled. Information related to the North rink practice ice sessions will be posted shortly as well.

In order to keep temperatures as low as possible, skaters will not be allowed to enter the building until 9:30 am. A command center has been set up outside the facility to answer questions on-site.

Attention Non-Qualifying Competition Coaches: 

Non-qualifying competition coaches will receive a credential (pass) for non-qualifying events.  Such coaches may upgrade to a full event credential, which includes access to all qualifying round events, by showing proof of their current PSA and USFS membership.

Practice Ice Update!

If you pre-ordered practice ice, you may review your assignments on-line. If you wish to make changes to your practice ice assignments, we will accommodate such requests on a first come, first served basis, to the extent possible. For planning purposes, you can review current availability and fullness of practice ice sessions on the practice ice assignment page. Availability and fullness will fluctuate.

If you did not pre-order practice ice by the extended deadline of September 10, 2007, or you want to purchase additional practice ice, you may do so on-site beginning October 1, 2007. The Practice Ice Desk will open at 6 am on October 1, 2007. You must present a check or cash to pay for practice ice. Credit or debit cards will not be accepted.

The North Rink is the competition surface for all IJS events which start on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at noon. Competitors can play their music one time per day on the South Rink practice ice sessions only, with the exclusion of non-qualifying competition practice ice and championship round practice ice.

Due to some online registration issues, the event schedule was delayed and as a result the practice ice reservations have not been finalized.  The LOC is working feverishly to do so.  Refraining from calling or emailing to request practice ice times will cut down on interruptions and will result in a more speedy finalization of this process.  We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you in Louisville.

Tentative Schedule Updated 

The Tentative Schedule (including championship rounds) has been updated.  A more definitive schedule will be forthcoming with actual event times. In the meantime, this tentative schedule is intended to give at least a summary of each day's events.

Practice Ice Update - Extension of Deadline

The date for mailing in practice ice requests has been extended.  MAIL IN PRACTICE ICE PRE-PURCHASES AT THE RATE OF $15 PER 30 MINUTE SESSION MAY BE MADE THROUGH THE POST MARK DATE OF SEPTEMBER 10, 2007. PAYMENT MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR REQUEST.

ATTENTION QUALIFYING COMPETITORS: To pre-order Practice Ice, you must complete Form A, which is part of the Qualifying Announcement.

The Qualifying Announcement also contains forms to pre-purchase event passes, event programs, souvenir regional pins, competitor party tickets, and good luck messages.

Form D has instructions on getting your competitor's name and picture in the event program. Pictures for the event program must be submitted electronically on or before September 1 to info@eglr2008.org.

All forms must be postmarked on or before September 1, 2007
